 VISITING BRACE’S BAKERY

I was delighted to meet with members of the Brace’s family and company directors recently at the company’s headquarters at Pen-Y-Fan Industrial Estate.

George Brace, the Founder of Brace’s Bakery started the bakery in Pontllanfraith in 1902.

Brace’s today employs 300 people and produces up 1,600,000 loaves a week plus break rolls and Welsh cakes.

I met with the company to discuss the challenges that the business faces in an ever increasing competitive market place with major national bakers.

Brace’s is an important Islwyn and Welsh business that we are all extremely proud of it in Islwyn and I will strive to do all that I can to ensure that it gets the support it requires to continue to thrive.
