PLAN TO SHORTEN SCHOOL SUMMER HOLIDAYS ON HOLDI welcome the decision by the Welsh Labour Government to not introduce plans to shorten school summer holidays and change the school year.
Whilst there was merit in exploring the idea it was clear that opinion was sharply divided on the issue. Many teachers and parents clearly expressed their reservations about the prospect.
It was right that the Welsh Labour Government listen and act accordingly to those wishes.
Schools are already facing many challenges including the implementation of the new Welsh education curriculum.
This news I hope will be welcomed across Islwyn communities.
